| 'Survey Seahorse 2000' is a monitoring programme run by the 'Western Underwater Research Team', which encourages members of the community to provide information on seahorse sightings. The information will be used to determine distribution and population sizes around New Zealand. The information will also be helpful to support the management for their conservation. Anyone who is a scuba diver or visits the beach can get involved.
More Distribution Centres required.. We are still looking for Dive Centres and Dive Clubs to become distribution centres for the survey. Becoming a distribution centre doesn't cost a cent. We supply the survey kit, refills, posters etc, and a "Seashore Newsletter" every six months. It's a great project to get involved in. To install, select ‘Acrobat Reader’ and then select ‘downloads’. Under ‘Readers’ select the appropriate operating system software. The choice is yours how you fill out a survey form, either using your computer or complete by hand after printing. Select SurveyShts.Pdf and if you choose, type in your information in the spaces provided and select the appropriate boxes (a tick symbol will appear in each selected box). When completed, print out (by selecting the ‘Acrobat Reader’ print) and either post or fax to ‘Survey Seahorse 2000’ – see above.
